Studied two good books on screenwriting.
SAVE THE CAT, by Blake Snyder
THE SCREENWRITER'S BIBLE by David Trottier
...and read a lot of helpful, and not as helpful guides on the web, to help me write a screenplay for FLIGHTSUIT.
The first version followed the book too closely. What I loved about the book is the way the arcs of four characters draw together in the end. The professional reviewer let me know that wasn't working in the screenplay.
I straightened out the plot curves and told a more linear version of the story and I think it came out well. It has the same elements of the book, but is recognizably different in places due to the screenwriting requirements. It's strange that you can feel like you're telling a new story when you've already written it as a novel and then as a screenplay, but this version felt original as I was writing, so I hope you enjoy it.
Download it and let me know if you like it!
