Project Portfolio Management
MBA Research & Paper
I love reading books on new project management techniques as much as some people like watching sports. I am currently reading Critical Chain Project Management by Lawrence P. Leach and will post a review once I complete it.
In the meantime, here's a brief paper I wrote in my MBA economics class. It identifies substantial savings for a healthcare organization simply in the sequencing of projects in the portfolio.

BRIDGING FINANCIAL AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT
This paper illustrates the significant potential loss of net present value (NPV) from the project portfolio of a large organization, due to siloed, yet otherwise successful, implementation of both financial and project management functions. A project pipeline of 11 active projects and three prioritization methods was used to demonstrate value produced by bridging the gap between financial management and project management.
