A Team of Geocache Hunters in front of the 2nd Spear location

My phone buzzed with an email message on Saturday morning. This group of intrepid adventurers was staged and ready for the reveal of the last GPS coordinates, which I'd neglected to post after Steven McDevitt found the second Lazarus Spear.

I gave them the coordinates and they located the hiding spot. They're experienced geochache hunters.

Meanwhile, I drove over to Erwin and hustled up the mountain to meet them in person. We had a really great chat up on the mountain.

They were such good sports about everything that I told them I'd name some characters after them in the sequel. It's going to be a horror story, so that's not all good of course. Thanks to my new friends from the mountains!

Left to right: Dennis & Ruth Atkins (with Toby), Kathy Knowland, Charles deVries and Pete Knowland.
