DEEP DARK: UV Flashlight fun

During initial research I was amazed by the neon colors of the deep sea fish. I kept all the backgrounds of the illustrations dark and made the creatures the light sources (as they really are). I also played around with a UV Flashlight (“Black light”) and some other children’s books. The first thing I tested when the proofs came was the black light. It really works nicely.

My thought is that children, especially the younger ones who have a hard time being still to stay engaged for a story, could hold the flashlight and use it to interact with the story while the adult reads.

All of the pages really work well with the UV lights and I’d recommend the flashlight below, which can be purchased on Amazon for $10.99 (batteries included).
