DEEP DARK: 4,500 feet of heavy water
Life in the deep sea is tough. Even a little fish like Hatch has over 23,000 pounds of water pressing down on him all the time. That’s over 10 tons.

This also helps appreciate why deep sea creatures are always looking up. There is always a truckload of water directly overhead, with potential food that might be anywhere in the mile above them.
